During this training, you will bolster your own resilience by:
• renewing your personal practice of mindfulness • learning powerful mindfulness activities to bring to youth to help them better understand themselves and be their “best selves”. Program faculty will focus on modeling how to teach mindfulness practices that facilitate emotion regulation, attention and social connection, from a trauma sensitive lens. You will have time to explore leading formal practices of body awareness, mindful breathing, mindful listening, labeling emotions, kindness and self-compassion in breakouts with your peers, using age-appropriate scripts. You will also learn how to integrate mindfulness skills by inserting small moments of awareness during a class period, a therapeutic encounter or a school day.
