Jennifer Casper of Grand Blanc, Natalie Freeburn of Saline, and Laura Peurach, of Southfield, emboldened participants with their strategies and advice. Participants were able to practice what they learned with each other during the two days. “This is one of the most exciting and impactful learnings I have done in my 35 years in education,” said one participating educator. “Having worked primarily with middle/high school aged children, I was so grateful for the abundant practices, examples, testimonies, tips, and language that were shared, specific to that group. I got exactly what I came for!” wrote another in her evaluation.
MC4ME is grateful to all the educators who came to our training as well as the other training consultants who attended and contributed to its success: Lauren Kazee, Consultant at MDE and DHHS and Senior Director of Strategic Alliances for TRAILS, a Michigan based school mental health program, and a big thank you to Paula Lightsey, a Southfield administrator and long-term advocate for mindfulness in her school district, and the Southfield Public School District for their generous support in providing the venue.
