It was clear from the interviews that there is a strong and immediate need to support teachers and students with mindfulness practices. One teacher observed that student needs are more varied and intense than they’ve ever been.
Resoundingly teachers stated, “MC4ME has been a huge support.” They liked the summer institute offered by MC4ME, as well as the MC4ME newsletters, weekly reflections and tips, and the website. All were cited as helpful resources. They loved the drop-in meditations, posts on social media and small reminders and snippets to support their own mindfulness practice. They thought videos to share with students, e.g., body scans, would help with mindful practices. One suggested a repository of what works or showcase who is doing it well. In every interview, teachers emphasized that MORE is needed and that finding ways to embed mindfulness practices throughout the school day is a must. MC4ME is happy to help offer those supports.
